I recently saw an add in a magazine or computer advertising the old double-edged razor and checked a few stores and found one at Target and of course bought one made by Van Der Hagen; the razor is made in China , the blades in Germany, you receive 5 with the razor . I haven't tried it yet but am more than ready to soon , in the mean time I did this still life using pastel pencils on tinted pastel paper : )
Doing a little update with my latest water color for The Virtual Paintout, via Ireland , I liked this tranquil farm setting in the outskirts of Kerry, Ireland . The scene was done with Van Gogh tube paints on Strathmore's 9"x12" W/Color paper , 400 series
I reworked an earlier sketch I did on the virtual paintout, and darkened it slightly via windows live photo gallery, its an old farm I sketched during 6/14/12 in Latvia, it was sketched on 18"x24" news print : )
The present location for the " virtual Paintout " is Cape Cod; I chose this one at Barnstable , along Sea View Ave. For this painting I used pastels: hard, soft and pastel pencils + a charcoal pencil ( white) , on Strathmore Toned Tan 9"x12" paper. I liked the lookout on the building .
